Men’s Soccer Earns Another Road Victory Against Chesapeake

Prince George's men's soccer picked up their third straight win Thursday afternoon when the Owls traveled to Wye Mills, MD to play Chesapeake College.

The Owls (5-0-1, 4-0-1) got off to a quick start when Temilolu Idowu scored his fourth goal of the season just one minute into the match. The Owls avoided an early mistake when the Skipjacks (1-6-0, 1-6-0) nearly capitalized on Prince George's sloppy play in their own defensive end. The defense quickly corrected their mistakes and were able to transition on offense, creating 18 shots in just the first half. Ricardo Santana-Hernandez was able to add another goal in the 37th minute to give the Owls a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

Prince George's continued their attack in the second half, adding another 17 shots while holding Chesapeake to only 2 shots. Brian Ngoh was able to find the back of the net in the 56th minute to put the Owls up 3-0. The Skipjacks responded with a goal of their own in the 70th minute to cap off the scoring and end the game with a 3-1 Owls victory. The victory also marked the Owls third straight win over a MD JUCO opponent. Up next for the Owls is a home match Tuesday September 24th against The College of Southern Maryland.
