Wolverines Lose At Prince George

Newark, NJ - The Wolverines lost their 2nd of a back to back in Maryland over the weekend to Prince George, 86-80. Sophomore Jaiden Gilzene led the Wolverines with 20 points and 7 rebounds, while Jason Martinez chipped in with 5 assists. Essex started off slow to start the game and trailed at the half 34-25, before tightening the defense and making timely buckets in the second half. Prince George though, was able to make key baskets to finish the game and pull out the victory. For the game, both teams would shoot well (Essex 42.4%, Prince George 44.3%) from the field; but a slow start for the Wolverines was too much too overcome.

Ethan Laquindanum would chip in also with 15 points and help facilitate the Wolverines halfcourt offense well with Martinez.

The Wolverines (0-2) return to action Tuesday at non-region foe Westchester Community College (7pm tipoff).
