Newark, NJ - The Women's Basketball team finished up a two game road trip, Sunday at Prince George Community College falling 60-55. Mia Marie Thomas led the Wolverines with 20 points, while Basirat Amirashaun had 20 rebounds and Natalie Fonseca chipped in with 4 assists. The Wolverines defense was in full affect all game, forcing their opponents to only shoot 25.8% from the field and forcing 16 turnovers. However, the offense could not get going and operate efficiently; shooting 25.7% from the field themselves and handing possession back to Prince George with 28 turnovers. A close game came down to key 2nd half possessions, with Prince George getting the better of the possessions to win the game with key buckets and stops on defense.
Kayley Lynch chipped in with 11 points and Basirat Amirashaun with 12 points as well.
The Wolverines (1-2) will now take a much needed break before returning to action on Tues 11/19 at home vs Lackawanna College (5pm tipoff).
