Cecil Shells Prince George's, 17-7
NORTH EAST - Cecil College baseball earned a season high 15 walks in a 17-7 victory over the Prince George's Owls in Saturday's first contest.
The Seahawks also matched their 2025 best with 15 RBI. Infielder Justin Weaver led the team with five.
PG took the first lead of the day, but it was quickly taken away after a bases loaded throwing error scored two for Cecil. Gio Malatesta's two-run blast to left highlighted the six-run first for the Seahawks.
Cecil pushed towards a mercy rule victory in the middle innings, coming within a run before PG ended the Seahawks offensive outburst in the fifth. The Owls produced a three-run homer in the top of the sixth to make it 13-7, but Cecil punched through six runs in the same frame to end the game early.
Chad Francis (2-1) got the win from the mound, striking out a pair of Owls over four innings.
The Seahawks stand at 14-12 on the year after the victory.
