Cardinals Defeat Owls in 2-1 Battle

FINAL: Prince George's Community College: 1 CCBC Catonsville Cardinals: 2
On Thursday, October 13th, the 5-8-2 CCBC Catonsville Cardinals hosted the 5-4-1 Prince George's
Community College Owls. In a battle of mid-table teams, the Cardinals emerged victorious with a 2-1
defensive victory.
The Cardinals started very quickly, earning a scoring chance just five minutes into the contest. Forward
Mike Miranda (Lansdowne) was able to convert on a beautiful cross from Mykal Hogan (Boys Latin),
putting the Cardinals up 1-0 in the opening minutes. The Owls quickly responded with an equalizing goal
to tie the game. The Cardinals were able to knock another goal in right before the halftime break, as
Bradley Ramirez (Newtown) capitalized on another golden opportunity from captain Caleb Akano (FSTC
Yaba).
The two teams would remain deadlocked at 2-1 for the remainder of the match. In a back-and-forth
game, the Cardinals were able to come out on top and earn their second win in the past two weeks. This
Catonsville team has improved drastically over the course of the season and is looking to end their
season on a high note.
The Cardinals are home on Tuesday, October 17 th at 5:00 PM against WVU Potomac State College in
their final game of the season. We encourage all Cardinal fans to come out and support the team and
