Prince George's Community College
Prince George’s Community College encompasses 150 acres in Prince George’s County and is nestled eight miles east of Washington, D.C. Founded in 1958, the college is one of the most diverse community colleges in the state — enrolling more than 40,000 students each year and representing 128 countries throughout the world. Multiple course offerings keep our average class size to about 18 students. More than 900 students graduate each year with an associate degree, certificate, or licensure. Prince George’s Community College is the number one choice of Prince George’s County residents for an undergraduate education and the leading institution in training and preparing employees for the county’s workforce. Among Prince George’s County high school graduates who go on to college, 50 percent choose to attend Prince George’s Community College. Since 1958, the college has provided students, the county, and region with high quality and affordable education, cutting-edge workforce and development training and the opportunity to achieve their dreams and aspirations. The college offers more than 200 academic and workforce development and continuing education programs of study, and transfer and scholarship opportunities to four-year colleges and universities. Prince George’s Community College has launched the most ambitious expansion and remodeling project since it opened for classes in 1967. The project involves the renovation of two existing buildings—Lanham Hall and Queen Anne, as well as the construction of a brand new Hospitality and Culinary Arts Center. Located on the Largo campus, these three facilities are designed to advance student success and meet community and workforce development needs.
