LARGO, Md. – Gina Seifert (Owings, Md./Northern), a member of the Prince George's Community College women's basketball team, has been named the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Women's Basketball Player of the Week announced on Nov. 21, 2017.

Seifert, a sophomore forward, posted three 20-point performances and at least 16 rebounds in the three games while averaging 23.3 points, 17.3 rebounds, 3.0 steals, 2.3 blocks and 1.6 assists per game in the week. She started her week by matching her career high with 25 points along with 16 rebounds against Allegany College of Maryland on Nov. 15. She then posted 22 points and 18 rebounds against Butler County Community College on Friday and 23 points and 18 rebounds against Westmoreland County Community College on Saturday. She shot 48.0 percent (24-for-50) from the floor and 81.5 percent (22-for-27) from the free throw line while also tallying nine steals, seven blocks and five assists in the three games.

For the season, the sophomore leads the team with 19.0 points and 18.3 rebounds per game. She has recorded double figures in every game this season with four 20-point performances including three straight. Seifert has also tallied double-doubles in six out of seven games this season.

A 4.0 grade-point average last year landed Seifert on the NJCAA All-Academic first team and she was also named to the NJCAA All-Region XX Tournament team last season. For her career, she is averaging 12.8 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.
