Seifert And Strong Nab All-NJCAA Region XX Division III Honors For Prince George's Women's Basketball

LARGO, Md. – Sophomore Gina Seifert (Owings, Md./Southern), a member of the Prince George's Community College women's basketball team, has been selected to All-National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XX Division III first team announced on Friday. Fellow sophomore Myanna Strong (Upper Marlboro, Md./Largo) was named an All-NJCAA Region XX Division III Honorable Mention.

Seifert, a 5-11 forward, ranked second in the region with 21.8 points per game. The sophomore notched double figures in points in all 16 games she played including 11 games with at least 20 points and a pair of 30-point performances. She also finished with 12 games in double digits for rebounds including 11 games with at least 15 boards and three 20-carom games while she also notched 12 double-doubles on the year. The sophomore posted 30 points and 16 rebounds against CCBC Catonsville, 30 points and 20 rebounds against Chesapeake College and 26 points and 23 rebounds against Northern Virginia Community College. Seifert was also selected as the NJCAA Division III Player of the Week twice this season.

In 41 career games in an Owl uniform, Seifert posted 624 points, 486 rebounds, 97 steals, 60 blocks and 51 assists. She recorded double figures in points 32 times in career including 12 games with at least 20 points and a pair of 30-point outputs. On the boards, she reached double figures 29 times in her career including 14 games with at least 15 rebounds and three tilts with 20 rebounds along with 24 double-doubles. She also excels in the classroom and posted a 4.0 grade point average last year to earn a spot on the All-NJCAA Academic first team.

Strong, a 5-6 guard, averaged 7.9 points per game this season. She reached double figures in points seven times this season including a career-high 18 points against Pennsylvania Highlands Community College. She also dished out six assists for more three times including seven against CCBC Catonsville and posted five blocks in that same contest against the Cardinals.

For her career, Strong has eight 10+ games on her resume and finishes her two years in Largo with 232 points, 114 rebounds, 92 assists, 75 steals and 48 blocks.
