Slow Start for Lady Owls

Slow Start for Lady Owls

Largo, MD. - Although the Owls women's basketball team has endured a slow start to the 2015-16 season, the team shows promise and hopes to return the program to winning ways soon. Currently, the Owls have a young team carrying nine freshman and one sophomore and doesn't have any player from last year's championship roster.

According to Coach Harris, the team chemistry gets better on a daily basis and every practice and game shows individual and team improvement. This she hopes will continue, with two upcoming games against CCBC Catonsville and Westmorland within the next four days.

In the Owls last game against Middlesex Community College, the Owls enjoyed a fast start but seemed to lack focus before the half to relinquish the lead. Although they fought their way back into the game, the lady Owls were only able to cut the lead to 4 points late in the 4th quarter. Timely baskets by Middlesex kept the game out of reach while handing the Owls their fourth loss of the season by an 84-74 score line.

The lady Owls will try to earn their first win on Wednesday, November 18, against Catonsville or on Saturday, November 21, against Westmorland. Tipoff for these games are set for 5:00PM and 2:00PM respectively.
