Foday Posts Two Top-3 Finishes And Men's 4x400m Relay Places Second To Power Prince George's At NJCAA DIII Outdoor Track And Field Championships

COLUMBIA, Md. – Mary Foday (District Heights, Md./Central) posted two Top-3 finishes and the men's 4x400m-relay team placed second to lead the Prince George's Community College track and field team at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Outdoor Track And Field Championships hosted by Howard Community College on Saturday.

Foday placed second in the 100m dash with a time of 12.31 to finish 0.12 second behind the winner and just beat out the third-place finisher by 0.01 seconds. The freshman then returned to the podium stand for the second time on the day after finishing third in the 200m dash with a time of 25.45.

The quartet of Baladji Diakite (Upper Marlboro, Md./Largo), Christy-Morel Andjalepou (Washington, D.C./Cardozo Education Campus), Edwin Brown III (Upper Marlboro, Md./Homeschooled) and Ari Wilson (Clinton, Md./Charles Herbert Flowers) teamed up to place second in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:28.34 to earn their second medal of the championships. The foursome finished third in the 4x800m relay on Thursday.

Andjalepou also placed fourth in the 800m run (2:00.93) and Ari Wilson was fifth in the 400m dash (50.60).

The men's 4x400m relay and 4x800m relay teams, Foday (100m dash and 200m dash) and Ashley Wilson (White Plains, Md./Princess Anne) all notched a Top-3 finish over the three days to earn a medal. Ashley Wilson placed third in the triple jump on Friday.

The Owl women, who placed second last year at the NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track And Field Championships, finished in 12th place with 21 points while the men also finished in 12th place with 23 points. Kingsborough won both the men's and women's team titles.
