Owls Take Down Harford

Prince George's men's soccer traveled to Bel Air, MD to take on Harford's Fighting Owls in a conference showdown Thursday, October 3rd. The Owls recorded their fourth shutout of the season and their second this week in route to a 2-0 victory.

The Owls (8-1-1, 7-1-1) continued to hold strong on the defensive side of the ball, allowing only one shot the entire first half while creating eight shots of their own. Sophomore Alan Hernandez was able to find the back of the net in the 30th minute to put the Owls up 1-0. The Owls would fire another shot on goal in the 42nd minute but it was saved to keep the score 1-0 heading into halftime.

The Fighting Owls (6-6, 4-5) came out aggressive to start the second half, launching three shots towards Owls keeper Austin Geier in the first seven minutes of the half. Geier was assisted by his teammates who managed to pressure their shooters, causing the shots to be off target. Prince George's transitioned well throughout the half registering eleven shots, one of which sophomore  Brandon Betts was able to get past Harford's keeper to give the Owls a 2-0 lead in the 84th minute. Prince George's held strong to the remainder of the game to secure another shutout.

Prince George's home match originally scheduled for Saturday, October 5th against Westmoreland County Community College has been cancelled, allowing the Owls to rest and recover before returning home to face Howard on Tuesday, October 8th. The match is set to begin at 3 p.m.
