Owls Tie Cardinals 1-1

Prince George's Men's soccer (2-0-1, 1-0-1) battled for 110 minutes against Maryland JUCO opponent CCBC Catonsville (1-3-1, 0-1-1) in a matchup that ended in a 1-1 tie. Prince George's again came out strong creating 8 shots in the first half, one of which hit the crossbar off a header by sophomore Brian Ngoh. The Owls held strong defensively in the first half allowing just 4 shots, with only one on goal.

Prince George's was able to quickly find the back of the net just 3 minutes into the second half with a goal from freshman Nathan Asamoah who was assisted by fellow freshman Jamal Coleridge. The Cardinals responded with a goal in the 72nd minute from Malek Shedid who was assisted by Darrio Campbell and Wilton Moscoso. The Owls continued their attack, creating 5 shots and 2 corner kicks in the final 28 minutes of play while holding the Cardinals to only 1 shot, but were unable to score.

Prince George's pressed on with their aggressive offensive play in both periods of overtime which saw the Owls attempt 4 shots. Shots by both sophomore Brandon Betts and Jamal Coleridge in the second period of overtime were on target but were saved by Catonsville's keeper. The Owls have a tough matchup against another MD JUCO opponent in CCBC Essex next week, September 10th at home.
