Nseke And Atama Tallies Help Prince George's Men's Soccer Get Past Cecil And Look Ahead To Saturday's Matchup With NOVA

LARGO, Md. – Prince George's Community College will go into a key National Junior College Athletic Conference Region XX Division III tilt feeling good after the Owls defeated Cecil College 2-0 in Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MD JUCO) men's soccer action on Friday.

Guilluame Nseke (Largo, Md./Largo) scored unassisted at the 21:30 mark to give Prince George's (8-5-0, 6-4-0 MD JUCO) the lead for good. Atabong Atama (Greenbelt, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) sealed the victory off a feeder from John Jean (District Heights, Md./Central) at the 83:56 mark. Freshman Angel Olmedo (Hyattsville, Md./High Point), who was the preview interview for the weekend, earned his first career shutout after making two saves in 90 minutes of action.

Nseke notched his third tally of the season to go along with two assists to move into a tie with Chris Garcia (Fort Washington, Md./Friendly) for fourth place in goals and points (8).

The second tally featured two firsts after Atama notched his first collegiate score off Jean's first career assist. Atama now has a goal and an assist for three points after dishing out an assist against Harford Community College on Sept. 18.

Olmedo has not allowed a goal this season in 141:40 minutes of action while making five saves. The Owls now have seven shutouts on the year with Olmedo being a part of two shutouts this season while Aboubacarr Sinera (Lanham, Md./Parkdale) has helped the Largo team to six shutouts including three individually. Sinera has a 1.12 goals against average in 803:20 minutes of work with a .737 save percentage.

Ben Montague (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) leads the scoring attack with seven goals and three assists for 17 points. Moh Sherif (Capital Heights, Md./Central) is second on the squad with five tallies and four assists for 14 points and Jalen Washington (Washington, D.C./DeMatha) sits third on the team with four markers and three assists for 11 points.

Prince George's has a short turnaround for a big match against Northern Virginia Community College on Saturday. Match time is 12 p.m. The Owls are 1-1 going into its final region game after falling 1-0 to Howard Community College on September 11 and defeating Anne Arundel Community College on October 5. The Nighthawks, who still have two region contests after Saturday, are 0-1 in the region after falling 6-4 to Howard on September 18. Northern Virginia will be playing their first match on Saturday since October 1.
