Prince George's Men's Soccer Upended By CCBC Essex

LARGO, Md. – Prince George's Community College falls 4-2 to CCBC Essex in Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MD JUCO) men's soccer action on Wednesday.

Ben Montague (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) and Moh Sherif (Capital Heights, Md./Central) both found the twine for the Owls (7-5-0, 5-4-0 MD JUCO) in the loss while Aboubacarr Sinera (Lanham, Md./Parkdale) posted a career-high seven saves.

Montague tied the match at 1 when he streaked down the right side and beat the goalkeeper into the left netting at the 27:29 mark. Montague, who leads the team with seven goals and 17 points, has registered a tally in five of the nine games he has played and posted a point in six contests this season.

Sherif made it a one-goal game when he twinkled the twine unassisted at the 72:32 mark to trim the margin to 3-2. After not recording a point against Frederick Community College on Monday, the sophomore notched a point in his seven of his last eight games. Sherif fuels the team with four assists while ranking second on the team in goals (5) and points (14). He now has eight tallies and five helpers for 21 points in his career.

Prince George's continues its busy week with four games in six days at Cecil College on Friday. Match time is 4 p.m. After the match against the Seahawks, the Owls return home to host Northern Virginia Community College in a crucial Region XX Division III matchup.
