Prince George's Men's Soccer Edged At Harford, 3-2

BEL AIR, Md. – Prince George's Community College lost a hard-fought match against Harford Community College 3-2 in Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MD JUCO) men's soccer action on Tuesday.

Ben Montague (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) and Moh Sherif (Capital Heights, Md./Central) staked the Owls (2-3, 1-2 MD JUCO) out to 1-0 and 2-0 leads in the match. It was Montague's first collegiate score while Sherif now has four career tallies after posting three goals last season. The sophomore's first career point was an assist against the Fighting Owls in 2017.

After a scoreless first half, Montague took a feed from Roban Boima (Hyattsville, Md./DuVal) at the 51:25 mark for the first goal of the game and Boima's first collegiate assist.

Harford answered 21 seconds later to deadlock the game at 1 before Sherif regained the advantage for Prince George's thanks to a connection from Atabong Atama (Greenbelt, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) at the 60-minute mark for a 2-1 edge. It was Atama's first career point.

Yoima Khan Torres (Hyattsville, Md./Northwestern) turned away three shots while playing all 90 minutes for the first time in his career in the loss.

After Sherif's tally, the Fighting Owls scored the final two goals including the decisive tally at the 79:34 mark. The Largo team had a corner kick with two minutes and 18 seconds left in the match, but did not register a shot after Harford took the lead for good.

Prince George's returns to action on Friday against College of Southern Maryland. Match time is 5 p.m. The game will be "Friday Night Lights Welcome Back Kickoff" as the first weekday home game during the regular season. The kickoff will include Cold Stone ice cream at the end of halftime/beginning of the second half.
