Prince George's Men's Soccer Drops 1-0 Match At Howard

COLUMBIA, Md. – Prince George's fought hard in its first National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XX Division III match, but could not overcome an early tally in a 1-0 loss to Howard Community College in Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MD JUCO) men's soccer action on Tuesday.

Aboubacarr Sinera (Lanham, Md./Parkdale) made five saves for the Owls (1-2, 1-1 MD JUCO) while playing 90 minutes for the first time on the year. Alan Hernandez (Hyattsville, Md./Northwestern) had a team-high three shots of the seven shots in the match for the Largo program.

Francisco Canton (Hyattsville, Md./Northwestern) notched the lone shot on goal for Prince George's, but his shot was turned away in the 53rd minute. Hector Ortiz (Hyattsville, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) gave the Owls its final scoring chance, but his shot went wide in the 75th minute.

The Dragons scored in the seventh minute and held on for the victory.

Prince George's is scheduled to make its 2018 home debut on Saturday at the PGCC Bermuda Field against Union County College.
