THE NEXT MATCH
 
  • Prince George's is set to participate in the Tom Bichy Tournament hosted by Montgomery College on Sunday against the preseason No. 1 and defending NJCAA Division III national champion Genesee Community College.
  • The tournament is named after the late Montgomery College men's soccer coach and athletics director Tom Bichy. It will be the fifth annual tournament in honor of the Montgomery College legend. Bichy started the men's soccer program, served as head coach for 37 seasons and amassed 471 victories in his tenure. He also served as a professor and athletics director for 24 years at the Rockville campus.
  • The Owls are playing in the tournament for the fourth-consecutive season and are 2-2 in Tom Bichy Tournament.  
  • The Owls played two teams in the national poll last year and earned wins in both tilts. Both games were played at the Maryland Sportsplex with victories against No. 8 Nassau Community College and No. 8 Montgomery College in 2017.
  • Genesee comes into the tournament 2-0 and will play Mount Sac on Saturday to open the tournament.
THE LAST TILT
 
  • Prince George's defeated Hagerstown Community College 1-0 in the season opener on the road on Tuesday.
  • Freshman Roban Boima scored the decisive goal in the 71st minute off a feeder from fellow freshman Guillaume Nseke for the lone goal of the afternoon.
  • Freshman Aboubacarr Sinera made one save in the final 45 minutes to earn the win against the Hawks while freshman Yoaimo Khan Torres turned away two shots in the first half.
  • Head coach Tony Galeano won his Prince George's coaching debut. The squad has won the season opener in three-straight seasons.
  • The Owls had 15 of the 16 players that participated make their collegiate debut with sophomore Moh Sherif the lone returner from last season.
THE ROAD AHEAD
 
  • The team will be on the road for the third-straight contest at No. 5 Howard Community College on Tuesday, marking the second-straight tilt against a nationally-ranked opponent.
  • Prince George's will make its 2018 home debut against Union County Community College on Sept. 15 at the Bermuda Field on campus.
  • After a road game at Harford Community College on Sept. 18, the Owls will play its next four matches at home with College of Southern Maryland (Sept. 21), CCBC Essex (Sept. 25), CCBC Catonsville (Sept. 28) and Chesapeake College (Oct. 2) coming to town during this stretch.
  • Prince George's will play eight games in Largo and eight games on the road this season.
  • The Owls have posted a winning mark both at home and on the road in the last five years and hold a 28-15-2 mark at home and 36-16-1 dating back to the 2013 campaign.
