Owls WIN District F Championship

Owls WIN District F Championship

The second seed Prince George's Owls Men's Soccer team hosted the number one seed Montgomery Raptors tonight in the NJCAA Region XX championship game.  Each team came out of the gate ready to fight for their season as this playoff game determined who would advance to the NJCAA National Championship at Herkimer County Community College, Nov. 9-13, 2016.

The Owls spent the majority of the first half in control of the ball in their offensive half but they weren't able to tack one up on the scoreboard.  The first half ended scoreless.  The hard fought battle continued in the second half.  Owls had five shots on goal but the strong defense of the Raptors stopped all shots.  Owls took the leader at the 77:09 mark with a goal from #12 Alton West, assisted by #9 Edwin Claros.  The remaining 13 minutes saw two shots from both teams and a strong defensive from the Owls.

The Owls won the Region XX/District F Championship.

Owls now advance to the NJCAA National Championship hosted by Herkimer Co. Community College, NY on November 9-13, 2016.
