Largo, MD. - The Owls men capped off a strong regular season on Wednesday, October 21st, blanking Chesapeake by a final score of 11-0. This win pushed the team to an overall record of 12-5-2 on the season, while earning top 10 recognition nationally.
Currently, the team is ranked 10th in the men's soccer rankings by the NJCAA Men's Soccer Coaches Association with previous ranking as high as 8th in the country. In the five loses that the team has had throughout the season, four has been to teams that are currently nationally ranked in the top 10. Namely, Genesee (1), Nassau (4), Herkimer (6) and Montgomery (8). Key Notable wins were against Camden that is currently ranked 5th (previously 3) and Potomac State who were previously ranked 8th.
The Owls will host this year's tournament and are looking to build upon their season when they compete for the Region XX DIII Championship. The team has earned an automatic bye into the quarter-finals of this championship and will face off against the winner of the first round match-up between Anne Arundel and Potomac State. The semi-finals for the tournament will be played on Thursday, October 29. Start time for the Owls game is set for 5:00 PM.
