Owls Men Post a 2-0-1 Record on the Week

Largo MD. - After a disappointing loss to Montgomery College on Friday October 9, the Owls men started the new week strong and posted a 2-1-0 record after playing three games in five days.

In the game on Tuesday October 13th versus Harford, Prince George's men had a fast start scoring within the first five minutes to take the early lead. However, Harford scored two goals in the remaining 40 minutes to take a 2-1 lead heading into the half. This lead was short lived as Prince George's tied the game early in the second and showed their dominance by out possessing Harford. This possession, gave Prince George's multiply opportunities in front of goal to win the game. Unfortunately, Harford's goalkeeper made timely saves to preserve the 2-2 tie for his team.

Two days later, the Owls were back on the road to battle conference opponents NOVA. There was a lot riding on this game for both teams, as the winner would earn the second seed in the conference tournament. Again the Owls started strong and freshman forward Ngeh Mbah put the Owls on the score board with his 10th goal of the season. NOVA converted a penalty kick minutes later to tie the game at 1 apiece before the Owls put the game to rest with two strikes from Angelo Ridore to earn his team the 3-1 victory.

In their third game of the week the Owls blanked Cecil by a final score of 6-0 to push their overall record on the season to 11-5-2. Angelo Ridore and Kelly Marah both had hat tricks to lead the Owls on the night pushing their season goal scoring total to 14 and 18 respectively. The Owls will travel to play their final game of the regular season on Wednesday, October 16th versus Chesapeake. Kick-off is set for 4:00 PM.
