Marah scores twice to lead Owls

Largo, MD. - Kelly Marah scored a brace on Tuesday night to help the Owls men's soccer team defeat Frederick in MD JUCO action.

Frederick came into this game 7-3 and was looking to add to their overall record. The Owls were looking to add to their two game win streak and maintain the lead atop the MD JUCO.

It was the Owls who had the fast start with Ngeh Mbah finishing close range from an Angelo Ridore pass with 7 minutes played. Frederick rebounded quickly and Manuel Mejicanos scored their only goal of the game to tie the game at one apiece. Angelo Ridore got the team back on track by scoring is 9th goal of the season in the 25th minute and the Owls never looked back. Marah later scored twice to give the Owls the 4-1 lead going into the half.

The second half saw both teams creating half chances at goal. However, neither team was able to add to the score, as well as both goal keepers made timely stops to maintain the 4-1 score line to finish the game.

This was the Owls third win in the current streak, pushing their overall record to 9-4-1 with three loses to teams ranked in the top five nationally.

The team will travel to face longtime rivals Montgomery College in a region XX matchup on Friday, October 9. Kickoff is set for 2:00 PM.
