Chavez Scores Winner in First Overtime to Defeat Knights

Largo MD. - The Owls men are on a five game win streak after edging CCBC Essex by a 2-1 score line on Thursday, September 18, 2015.

Both teams started the game well and created great looks at goal that could have given either team the lead early in the game. However, Essex took the 1-0 lead from a well-placed cross from Michael Johnson and a timely header by Guillermo Almirall. This lead would carry over into the second half before the Owls were able to pull one back from great combination play down the right side of the field by Davion Alcock and Ngeh Mbah. Mbah then played Kevin Chavez who took a well struck shot that found the back of the net. This goal tied the score at one apiece and eventually sent the game into overtime.

This would set up a climatic finish as Chavez was once again able to steal the show in overtime. His goal from a Davion Alcock pass in the 2nd minute of the first overtime, gave the Owls the golden goal win with a final score of 2-1.

The Owls next game will be against Essex County College on Sunday, September 20. Kick-off is set for 1:00 PM.
