Owls beat Frederick 2-1

On Wednesday the Owls men's soccer team was able to get back to winning ways after they were able to beat Frederick by a score of 2-1. This was a much needed win for the Owls who had lost their two previous games.

Ramario Chapman scored his second goal of the season with a thunderous shot from outside the box after exchanging passes with Glodo Melendez. Although the Owls seemed to be in control of the game, Frederick proved to be a worthy opponent and scored with two minutes left in the half to keep the score at 1-1 going into halftime.

The Owls started the second half with a lot of energy and took the lead with only two minutes played. Glodo Melendez was the beneficiary of the second goal after he was played in behind Frederick's defense by Kevin Chavez. This was also the second goal of the season for Melendez who has made much improvement over the last few games.

Christopher Lampkins and Richard Lewis III shared time in goal. Lampkins was able to make 3 saves in the first half and Lewis preserved the win with 4 good saves to close out the game.

The Owls will host CCBC Essex on Friday September 19, 2014 at 6 PM. The Owls men will be looking to win their first home game of the young season against Essex who are currently undefeated.
