  • Prince George's and Anne Arundel tangle in a game that will determine the No. 1 seed for the upcoming NJCAA Region XX Division III Tournament at the end of February. Both teams have taken care of business against the Western Pennsylvania teams in the region and come into the tilt undefeated in Region XX Division III play.
  • The Owls have won the last four regular season meetings with the Riverhawks.

  • Freshman Kevin Chase notched a career-high in points and rebounds on his way to his first career double-double to help power Prince George's Community College past Baltimore City Community College 71-55 on Wednesday to take down the last undefeated team in Maryland JUCO. Chase went 3-for-7 from the field, 1 of 2 from behind the arc and 3 of 3 from the free throw line to finish with a career-best 10 points. The freshman then hauled in five rebounds on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball to end with a personal-best 10 boards for his first collegiate double-double. Chase's previous best performance was seven points and eight rebounds against Westmoreland County Community College on Dec. 8.
  • Sophomore Alex Morales paced the Owls with 19 points and 13 rebounds. The MD JUCO Athlete of the Month of December, has now posted double-doubles in five-straight games and six of his last seven. The sophomore has reached double figures in points in all 16 tilts this season and 10 times in rebounds. Morales leads the team with 19.6 points and 11.3 rebounds per game.
  • Freshman Tunde Scrivner added 15 points and seven rebounds. Scrivner has reached double figures in points in 15 of the 16 games this season and has scored at least 15 points 10 times this season. The seven caroms is a career high and marks the seventh time this season the freshman has grabbed at least five boards in a game. He ranks second on the team with 16.3 points per game.
  • Sophomore Moetaz Ashkar added 10 points and 10 rebounds for his second career double-double after registering 14 points and 13 rebounds against Westmoreland County. It is the fourth time this season he has scored 10 points and fifth time in his career while his 10-rebound performance is the second of his career.
  • Sophomore Dexter Turner dished out a career-high 15 assists, marking the fifth time this season he has posted double figures in dimes. He leads the team with 7.6 assists per game.
THE ROAD AHEAD
 
  • The Owls continue its three-game homestand against longtime county line rival Montgomery College on Wednesday.
  • The Largo team concludes the home stretch against CCBC Catonsville (January 25).
  • The game against Garrett College has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 2.
  • Hagerstown will host the Maryland JUCO Tournament this year.
  • Prince George's will also host the region tournament in February.
