Prince George's Men's Basketball Interim Head Coach William West Named HoopDirt.Com JUCO National Coach Of The Week

LARGO, Md. – Prince George's Community College Interim Men's Basketball Head Coach William West has been named the HoopDirt.com's JUCO Coach of the Week Award presented by Just Play Solutions for the week of December 17-24.West is now eligible to receive HoopDirt.com's National Coach of the Year Award presented by Just Play Soultons which will be presented at the conclusion of the 2018-19 college basketball season. 

The Owls defeated CCAC Boyce 86-46 on December 18 and then downed CCAC Allegheny 112-75 on December 19 to help West to the national honor. Sophomore Alex Morales (Paterson, N.J./Manchester Regional) powered the two wins with a triple-double in both contests and averaged 18.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 10.5 assists per game in the Western Pennsylvania swing. 

West, who is in his first season at the helm in Largo, has guided Prince George's to a 12-1 record including 5-0 in NJCAA Region XX Division III play and 3-1 in Maryland JUCO action. West was named interim head coach of the Owls after serving as an assistant the previous two year, helping the Owls to the 2017 Maryland JUCO Tournament title and appearances in the NJCAA Region XX Division III Championship Game both seasons. 

Prince George's returns to the hardwood after the New Year at home against the College of Southern Maryland on Friday, January 4. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
