Morales Notches Triple-Double In Victory At CCAC Boyce

MONROEVILLE, Pa. – Alex Morales (Paterson, N.J./Manchester Regional) notched his second career triple-double to power Prince George's Community College past CCAC Boyce 86-46 in National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XX Division III men's basketball action on Tuesday.

Morales registered 19 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists for his first triple-double of the season and the second of his career after tallying 15 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds against Allegany College of Maryland on Jan. 13, 2017. It also marks the first triple-double by an Owls (11-1) player since Mykal Johnson posted 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists against Garrett College on Jan. 13, 2018.

Morales connected on 7 of his 8 shots from the floor, 1 of 2 from behind the arc and 4 of 4 from the charity stripe. He now has a triple-double and six double-doubles this season and two triple-doubles and 17 double-doubles for his career. It marks the second time in his career that he has registered double figures in assists and the 20th time he has hauled in at least 10 boards in a game.The sophomore has posted double figures in all 12 games this season and 30 of the 38 games in his career. Morales leads the squad with 18.9 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.

Tunde Scrivner (Washington, D.C./H.D. Woodson) added 13 points and seven steals. The freshman has scored double figures in all 12 games and matched a career-high seven thefts he established against Westmoreland County Community College on Dec. 8. Scrivner ranks second on the team with 17.4 points per game.

Dexter Turner (Washington, D.C./Idea Public Charter) posted 12 points and eight assists. Turner has reached double figures in points in each of his last six games and is averaging 16.5 points per game in that span. The sophomore has nine double-figure point games this season and 10 in his career. He has dished out at least eight assists eight times this season and ranks sixth in NJCAA Division III with 7.2 assists per game. As a team, the Largo team is fifth in the county in assists per game (21.6).

Darren Rivers (District Heights, Md./DuVal) notched five points and 10 rebounds for the Owls. It is the third time in his career and first time in 2018-19 the sophomore has hauled in double figures in boards.

Delahaney Williams (Laurel, Md./Laurel) recorded a career-best eight points while Deon Savage (Washington, D.C./Theodore Roosevelt) scored at least seven points for the third time this season.

Prince George's took a 49-27 lead going into the locker room and then posted a 37-19 margin in the final frame to earn its fifth win in region play this year.

The Owls, who are receiving votes in the NJCAA Men's Basketball National Division III Poll, closes out its time in Western Pennsylvania and its schedule in 2018 at CCAC Allegheny on Wednesday. Tipoff is 5 p.m.
