THE LAST TILT
 
  • Freshman Tunde Scrivner scored 15 of his game-high 26 points in the first half while the Prince George's Community College team started the game shooting 70 percent from the field en route to a 91-80 victory against Hagerstown Community College on Wednesday.
  • Scrivner finished the game 9-for-14 from the floor, 5 of 9 from behind the arc and 3 of 4 from the free throw line to finish with a game-high 26 points and his second-best total in his freshman campaign. Scrivner added six assists, three steals and two rebounds on the night. The freshman, who tallied a career-high 31 points against SUNY Sullivan on Nov. 18, is averaging 25.0 points per game in his last three games and leads the team with 18.7 points per game.
  • The Owls started the game connecting on 21 of its first 30 shots in the first half to shoot at a 70 percent clip and to jump out to a 56-30 lead at the half. The squad missed fired on its last five shots of the stanza, but finished the first half with a shooting percentage of 60 percent.
  • Sophomore Alex Morales tallied 17 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Morales now has 25 career double-figure point games and continues to stuff the stat sheet to average 18.4 points, 10.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game.
  • Dexter Turner matched his career best with 14 points along with registering four assists, three rebounds and two steals. Turner has reached double figures in four games this season and five times in his career while matching the career-high 14 points he also scored against Pennsylvania Highlands Community College on Nov. 9.
THE ROAD AHEAD
 
  • Prince George's continues its five-game homestand against Westmoreland County Community College on Saturday. 
  • Frederick Community College (Dec. 12) and Butler County Community College (Dec. 14) will come to town during a five-game homestand.
  • Prince George's Athletics will be holding a Toy Drive during its games on against Westmoreland County, Frederick and Butler County. It will also hold an Ugly Sweater Contest during the doubleheader against Butler County.
  • The Owls will then travel to Western Pennsylvania to face CCAC Boyce (Dec. 18) and CCAC Allegheny (Dec. 19) to close out the year 2018.
  • The Largo team will play 11 of its final 17 regular games at Novak Field House in the regular season. Prince George's will also host the region tournament.
