Prince George's Men's Basketball Will Have Plenty To Be Thankful For This Week After 78-67 Win At CCBC Dundalk

BALTIMORE, Md. – Freshman Tunde Scrivner (Washington, D.C./H.D. Woodson) and the Prince George's Community College men's basketball team will have plenty to be thankful for this Thanksgiving after defeating CCBC Dundalk 78-67 in Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MD JUCO)  action on Tuesday.

Scrivner is thankful for the continued success to start his collegiate career after posting a team high in points for the second-straight game and has registered double figures in all six games thanks to his 18-point effort on Tuesday night. The Owls are 5-1 overall and 1-1 in league play under the tutelage of interim head coach William West. Along with its record, the squad will be thankful for some home cooking on Thursday and also with a five-game homestand starting up after the Thanksgiving holiday.

Scrivner connected on 6-for-13 from the field, 3 of 8 from behind the arc and 3 of 6 from the free throw line to finish with 18 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists against the Lions. Coming off a career-high 31 points against SUNY Sullivan on Sunday, the freshman has scored at least 15 points in a tilt in four of the six games this season. Scrivner ranks second on the team with 17.5 points per game.

Sophomore Alex Morales (Paterson, N.J./Manchester Regional) added 17 points, six rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block. Just like Scrivner, Morales has reached double figures in all six games including posting at least 17 points in five of the six contests this season. Morales has also hauled in five rebounds in all six games this year and fuels the squad with 19.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.

Freshman Miles Weaver (Alexandria, Va./Takoma Academy) posted a career-high 13 points while sophomore Jalen Robinson (Bowie, Md./Bowie) chipped in 11 points off the bench. Weaver reached double figures for the first time since November 10 and for the fourth time this season. The freshman has reached double figures each time he swishes at least two baskets from behind the arc. Weaver ranks third on the team with 9.2 points per game. Robinson notched his first career double-figure performance in an Owls uniform on the night.

Sophomore Dexter Turner (Washington, D.C./Idea Public Charter) dished out 10 assists for the third time this season in the winning effort. The sophomore has handed out at least eight assists in a game four times this season at least five dimes five times. He is averaging 7.7 points and 7.5 assists per game while handing out 45 assists through the first six contests.

Sophomore Darren Rivers (District Heights, Md./DuVal) chipped in eight points on the night.

The Largo program jumped out to a 38-28 lead going into the locker room and won the second half by a slim 40-39 margin to earn its first league win of the year and improve to 3-1 on the road.

Prince George's begins a five-game homestand on Wednesday, November 28 against Hagerstown Community College. Game time is 7 p.m. and can be viewed on PGCC TV.
