Morales And Turner See Double In Prince George's Men's Basketball's 81-60 Victory Against Pennsylvania Highlands

McHenry, Md. – Behind double-doubles by Alex Morales (Paterson, N.J./Manchester Regional) and Dexter Turner (Washington, D.C./Idea Public Charter), Prince George's Community College defeated Pennsylvania Highlands Community College 81-60 in National Junior College Athletic Conference (NJCAA) Region XX Division III men's basketball action on Friday at the McDonald's Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Garrett College.

Morales posted his second-straight points and rebounds double-double and notched at least 15 rebounds for the seventh time in his career. Morales continues to stuff the stat sheet after adding five assists, five steals and a block. The sophomore notched his 16th career double-double. Turner notched a career-high 14 points and 10 assists for his first career double-double.

Freshmen Miles Weaver (Alexandria, Va./Takoma Academy) and Tunde Scrivner (Washington, D.C./H.D. Woodson) posted their second-straight 10+ point games of their career. Weaver drained four triples for a career-high 12 points while Scrivner registered 12 points, three assists, three steals and two rebounds on the day. 

Deon Savage (Washington, D.C./Theodore Roosevelt) tallied four points and nine rebounds while Darren Rivers (District Heights, Md./DuVal) hauled in six boards in the winning effort.

The Owls won both halves after taking the first half 38-31 and the second half 43-29 on their way to their second win of the year and the first in region play.

Prince George's returns to action against CCAC Allegheny in the final day of the McDonald's Basketball Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday. Game time is 3 p.m.
