Prince George's Men's Basketball Announces 2018-19 Schedule

2018-19 Men's Basketball Schedule

LARGO, Md. – The Prince George's Community College men's and women's basketball team will play on the same day 20 of the 24 dates announced in the 2018-19 season. Both teams will have 12 home dates and Prince George's will host the National Junior College Athletic Conference (NJCAA) Region XX Division III Tournament at the end of February for both men's and women's basketball.

While the squad's will play on the same day 20 times, the teams will open the season on separate dates at Novak Field House. The women will open the campaign at home against Jefferson Community College on Nov. 3 while the men will ignite its season on Nov. 6 at home against Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.

The two teams will then play in the McDonald's Classic hosted by Garrett College on Nov. 9-10. Both squads will face Pennsylvania Highlands Community College on Nov. 9 while the women will face Hagerstown Community College on Nov. 10 with the men squaring off against CCAC Allegheny.

The Owls will host Sullivan County Community College (Nov. 18), Hagerstown (Nov. 28), Northern Virginia Community College (Dec. 4), Westmoreland County Community College (Dec. 8), Frederick Community College (Dec. 12), Butler County Community College (Dec. 14), College of Southern Maryland (Jan. 4), Garrett College (Jan. 12), Anne Arundel Community College (Jan. 18), Montgomery College (Jan. 23), CCBC Catonsville (Jan. 25) and Chesapeake College (Feb. 1) during the 2018-19 campaign. All home weeknight doubleheaders will have the women playing at 5 pm. and the men following at 7 p.m. while the weekend dates will tip with the women at 1 p.m. and the men following at 3 p.m.

Prince George's road doubleheaders include Harford Community College (Nov. 13), CCBC Dundalk (Nov. 20), Howard Community College (Jan. 9), Baltimore City Community College (Jan. 16), Cecil College (Jan. 30) and Allegany College of Maryland (Feb. 6). 

The Largo men's basketball team will also embark on a Western Pennsylvania road trip to play CCAC Boyce (Dec. 18) and CCAC Allegheny (Dec. 19). 

The Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MD JUCO) Tournament will be held in mid-February at Hagerstown.

All Prince George's home basketball games will feature live stats and will be streamed live on the Owls YouTube station. In addition, a select number of games will be featured on PGCC TV.

Prince George's women's basketball will be guided by ninth-year head coach Tiona Harris while the Owl men's program will be under the tutelage of first-year head coach William West. Both teams will have their eyes set on winning another NJCAA Region XX Division III title in 2018-19.
