Owls Knock off Top Conference Opponents

The Owls men's basketball team have been on a great run of late and have won their last four games dating back to mid-December. This win streak started with a blow out of Pennsylvania Highlands, CCAC-Allegheny, Allegany College of Maryland and most recently top rivals Montgomery College.

In their two most recent performances, the team won their first home game of the New Year knocking off Allegany College of Maryland in a thriller that went down to the wire. With both teams identical in the statistical category, the owls made big plays down the stretch to outscore Allegany 12-4 in the last two minutes. This pushed the game out of reach and earned the Owls the 86-78 win. Jared Warrick shot 6-11 from behind the arc and had a team high 19 points.

The Owls followed up this big performance on the road three days later against top rivals Montgomery College. This game was another high scoring affair with both teams showcasing their offensive fire power. However, it was the Owls men who showed great execution down the stretch with a three point dagger by Warrick to put the game to rest. This earned the Owls their 3rd conference win of the season and an overall 11-6 record.

The Owls men will travel to battle Chesapeake College on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
