Warrick Helps Owls to First Victory

Largo, MD. - After losing their season opener to Potomac State, the Owls men were able to bounce back a week later to go 1-1 in the Chesapeake Tournament. In the first game against the host, the Owls men cruised pass Chesapeake to put themselves in the championship game where they lost to Monroe by a score of 98-83.

Against Chesapeake, the Owls put up a season high 97 points and shot more than 53% from behind the arc to earn the 97-86 victory. Jared Warrick was the high man for the Owls scoring a game high 21 points while shooting over 50 percent for the game. Augustus Stone and Lavonte Sanders chipped in with 18 and 16 points respectively while Tauron Crenshaw grabbed a game high 13 rebounds.

This was the first win for former assistant and current interim head coach James Watkins. Watkins was appointed the Interim position after former coach Xavier Joyner resigned after the 2014-15 season.

The team is currently 1-2 on the year, will look to build on the weekends performance and reach the .500 mark on November 18, when they host CCBC Catonsville. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
