Sophomores McCray and Giles Lead Owls to Victory

All those in attendance Saturday evening as the Owls took on the Wolfpack of Westmoreland County Community College, heard the names, Gabriel McCray and Che'Von Giles, from the 'Voice' of the Owls, Malverse Nicholson, many times. The two sophomore guards led the team in scoring, McCray with 29 and Giles with 24, to a win over the Wolfpack by a score of 102-81.

The game was never close after 5 minutes into the first half when Giles hit the first of 4 consecutive shots from behind the arc.  Typical of the new trend this year of tighter officiating, there were many calls against both teams throughout the game. McCray was able to take advantage of many of those calls, by shooting 10-12 from the free throw line.  McCray also, led the team in total rebounds with 12, while freshmen, Lerenzo Foote and Malik Sneed both added 10 apiece.  Kirk Newman and JaSahn Johnson each added 10 and 11 points respectively.

The Owls will play their next home game Thursday, November 21 at 7pm versus region and divisional opponent, Montgomery College. Go Owls!
