Bradley's Strong Start And Offensive Outburst In Late Innings Hand Prince George's Baseball 8-4 Win Against Anne Arundel

ARNOLD, Md. –Bay To (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann-Goretti) and Shawn Alicea (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grand Street) each posted a two-run base hit in a four-run eighth and Keaton Bradley (Bahama, N.C./Northern Durham) pitched well for 8.2 innings to lift Prince George's Community College past Anne Arundel Community College 8-4 in Maryland Junior College Athletic College (MD JUCO) baseball action on Thursday.

After the Owls tied the game at 2 in the fifth, To smacked a two-run double to left field before Alicea followed with a two-run single to left field for a 6-2 lead. Alicea added a single in the ninth. Bradley allowed four runs (three earned) on nine hits in 8.2 innings to earn his third win of the season after striking out 11 batters in the game. The 11 strikeouts were the second-most punch outs in his career.

Austin Adams (Atlanta, Ga./Whitewater) posted a 2-for-4 performance with two RBIs and two runs scored. Brandon Crosby (Richmond, Va./Atlee, Mechanicsville) added three hits, a run scored and an RBI while Jake Brewer (Gibson City, Ill./Gibson City Melvin Sibley) registered two hits and a run scored, and Chase Perreault (Midland, Va./Liberty) had a hit, and two runs scored in the winning effort.

Anne Arundel scored twice in the third to grab a 2-1 edge, but Prince George's then scored the next six runs. 

The Owls tied the game in the fifth. Perrault doubled to led off the frame, moved to second on a groundout and touched home on Adams RBI infield single to even the score at 2. 

A four-run eighth gave the Largo team the lead for good at 6-2. Adams walked, Brewer was hit with a pitch and Crosby walked to load the bases. After a pitching change, To smacked a two-run double to left to bring home Adams and Brewer. Alicea capped the four-run outburst with a two-run single to score Crosby and To for a four-run lead.

Prince George's added two runs in the ninth. O'Neal Torche (Jersey City, N.J./St. Anthony's) walked, moved to second on a wild pitch and came around to score on Adams RBI single to center. After Brewer singled to left to put runners at the corners, Crosby scored Adams on an RBI single to left for an 8-2 advantage.

Anne Arundel scored twice in the ninth, but the Owls came away with the 8-4 victory to sweep the season series with the Riverhawks.

Prince George's got the scoring started in the game in the second to take a 1-0 lead. Chase Perreault walked, moved to second on a groundout and then stole third and scored on an error on the play and then scored seven of the final nine runs for the win.

The Owls return to action on Saturday at home against Chesapeake College. Game time is 12 p.m. The doubleheader will be the 50th Anniversary Old Fashion Baseball Game and will include a give away.
