Crosby Named NJCAA Baseball Division III First Team All-American; McFadden Nabs Third-Team All-American Status

LARGO, Md. – Brandon Crosby (Richmond, Va./Atlee, Mechanicsville), a member of the Prince George's Community College baseball team, has been tabbed as a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Baseball First-Team All-American, announced on Tuesday. Dakota McFadden (Largo, Md./Heide Trask [N.C.]) received Third-Team All-American honors.

It marks the fourth award for the duo this season after the pair was named to the All-Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference team, the All-NJCAA Division III Region XX first team and the Region XX All-Tournament team.

Crosby, who earned All-MD JUCO first team recognition, paced the team in hits (81), runs (71), stolen bases (45), batting average (.440) and on-base percentage (.527) while ranking third in RBIs (49), third in doubles (17), third in triples (2) and fourth in slugging percentage (.620). The freshman paced NJCAA Division III in steals and ranked fourth in stolen bases for all NJCAA divisions while also ranking eighth in Division III in runs. He posted a hit in 42 of the 49 games played, including 13 two-hit games and 12 three-hit performances. Crosby scored two or more runs 19 times and registered two or more stolen bases in 13 games.

McFadden, who was selected to the All-MD JUCO second team, fueled the team in doubles (23), RBIs (60), homeruns (11) and slugging percentage (.769) while sitting second in hits (72), second in batting average (.426), third in runs (49) and third in on-base percentage (.476). McFadden finished fourth in NJCAA Division III in doubles and sixth in slugging percentage. He recorded a hit in 39 of the 49 games this season, including 13 two-hit games, four three-hit performances and four games with four hits. In those three of the four games with four hits, McFadden was perfect at the plate going 4-for-4.

The Owls, who were ranked in the NJCAA Division III Baseball Rankings in six of the final seven polls, notched one of their best seasons in program history with a 33-15-1 record. The squad went 14-4 against Division III competition and 21-4 in non-conference games this season after posting a 12-11-1 mark in Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference games.

Prince George's advanced to the NJCAA Division III College World Series for the second time under head coach Buddy Foster in the last four years after winning its fourth NJCAA Region XX title and the NJCAA District D Championship.
