Prince George's Baseball Announces April 27 Makeup Date For CCBC Catonsville Road Contest

LARGO, Md. – The Prince George's baseball game at CCBC Catonsville, originally scheduled for April 6 in Catonsville, has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 27. Game time is 3:30 p.m.

Siri-Jacob Ramirez (Orlando, Fla./Cenapec [Dominican Republic]) smoked an RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning to tie the game at 10 for Prince George's Community College in the first meeting against CCBC Catonsville on Mar. 9. The game ended with the two teams tied at 10 after nine innings and could not go into extra innings due to darkness. Ramirez finished the afternoon 5-for-5 with three RBIs and a run scored for the Owls while Dakota McFadden (Largo, Md./Heide Trask [N.C.]) drilled a two-run homer and completed his afternoon with three RBIs and two runs scored. Thomas Thorgersen (Largo, Md./Forest Park [Va.]) registered two hits and an RBI, and Brandon Crosby (Richmond, Va./Atlee, Mechanicsville) was an on-base machine with three walks, a hit, an RBI and two runs scored. Ed Nottingham went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and two runs scored for the Cardinals, including a three-run homer in the eighth to temporarily give the visitors back the lead. Brady Adam added a two-run shot and two runs scored while Carl Colbert, Jr., scored three times and added a hit on the afternoon.

Since the tie against the Cardinals, the Owls have gone 12-6 in their last 18 games in that stretch. Prince George's, who ranks No. 9 in the NJCAA Division III rankings, has won five-straight after defeating Anne Arundel 10-5 on Thursday.

Prince George's returns to action on Saturday with a doubleheader against Chesapeake at the Prince George's Baseball Field. First pitch is 12 p.m. The Owls will honor Prince George's County legendary baseball coach William "Bumps" Vaughan during the afternoon. Vaughan, who coached the Owls for 20 years from 1986-2005, passed away at the age of 90 on Feb. 25. The Prince George's athletic department will giveaway Chick-fila sandwiches and a commemorative baseball hat with the No. 44 on the side of the hat in honor of Vaughan to the first 100 fans in attendance.
