Prince George's continues its six-game homestand when Anne Arundel comes to town to complete the season series on Thursday. The Owls have won the last four games in the series, including taking the first meeting this year 7-1 in Arnold on Mar. 28. Prior to this four-game winning streak the Riverhawks won five consecutive in the series dating back to the 2014 season.

the word on the riverhawks… Anne Arundel, who is battling Camden County on Wednesday, comes into play on Wednesday 15-16 overall and 9-7 in league play after defeating Harford 3-2 in 10 innings on Tuesday. Samuel Ryan leads the team with a .431 batting average with 47 hits, 22 runs scored, nine doubles, a triple, four homers and 28 RBIs. Mark Scarlas is hitting .310 with 26 hits, 12 runs scored, seven doubles, a triple, three homers and 18 RBIs while Matthew Semanick is batting .298 with 25 hits, 23 runs scored, five doubles and nine RBIs. Dustin Gosnell leads the pitching staff with  50.2 innings pitched, a 5-3 record, 61 strikeouts and a 2.84 ERA.

last time we met… Michael Hovermill, Jr. pitched a complete-game gem to propel Prince George's Community College past Anne Arundel Community College 7-1 on Mar. 28. The freshman allowed one run on four hits with one walk and 11 strikeouts on 117 pitches in a nine-inning complete game to earn his first win of the season. Hovermill pitched a 1-2-3 inning five times and retired 12 of 13 batters faced from the second to the fifth inning with the only hitter reaching base on an error in that stretch. The Riverhawks were 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position and twice Anne Arundel had runners in scoring position with no outs and the freshman got out of both innings unscathed.  Bay To went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for the Owls while Brandon Crosby posted two hits, two RBIs and a run scored. Jared Davis registered two hits, two runs scored and an RBI, and Dakota McFadden tallied two hits, a run scored and an RBI in the winning effort. Nathaniel Anthony picked up one of the four hits against Hovermill and knocked in the only run for the Riverhawks in the loss.

last time out… Austin Adams smacked a walk-off RBI single in the opener and then made the game-saving catch to end the game in the nightcap to propel Prince George's Community College doubleheader sweep against 17th-ranked Frederick on Saturday. The Owls won the first game 3-2 and then rallied for a 10-9 victory in the nightcap. Adams, who entered the opener as a defensive replacement, smacked the first pitch that he saw into left center to score Dakota McFadden with the decisive run to give the Owls their second-straight walk-off after rallying for a 17-16 victory against CCBC Dundalk on Thursday. After Ryan Faircloth capped a four-run rally with a decisive two-run double with two outs in the bottom of the sixth, Miciah Thomas sent a deep drive to right center field with a runner on first that Adams was able to track down for the second out and then doubled the runner off second to end the game and complete the two-game sweep. Adams finished the afternoon with two hits, one run scored and an RBI. McFadden ended the day with four hits and three runs scored while Brandon Crosby posted three hits, three runs scored and an RBI. Dwayne Coleman added two hits, two runs scored and two RBIs in the nightcap.
