Owls Drop Home Opener

Owls Drop Home Opener

Largo, MD. - In their first home game of the season, the Owls started off the game giving up two early runs to CCBC Essex Knights. This called for an early pitching change by the Owls to start the second inning. With both teams trying to climb the conference rankings, the Knights made significant changes to slow the Owls attack.

The Owls were able to get on the board in the fifth innings scoring two runs off a double by Corey Fields. This seemed to have changed the momentum with the Owls having two players in position to score. However, The Knights were able to escape the innings with two great defensive stops.

It took the Owls the last two innings to add to their score, with four runs in the 8th and three runs in the 9th innings. Nonetheless, this offensive output was a little too late for the Owls and the Knights secured the win by a final score of 13-9.

The Owls will return to action on Friday, March 17, 2016 in a double header against SUNY Adirondack. Game time is set for 1:00 PM
