Men’s Soccer Season Ends in District Tournament

The Oxford College of Emory University men's soccer team saw its season come to a close on Thursday evening as the Eagles fell to Prince George's Community College, 4-1. The District Tournament was played at Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, MD.

The Owls of Prince George's opened the game with an early goal in the 6th minute that came from Oliver Okanimba. The Owls would make it challenging for the Eagles to tie the game, only allowing one shot before they would score again in the 40th minute. Prince George's would take a 2-0 lead into the break.

Early into the second half, the Eagles drew a penalty kick that was converted by sophomore Ryan Scholte bringing the score to 2-1. This was Scholte's 21st goal of the season. The Owls would prevent the Eagles from scoring again and eventually would score two more goals in the 72nd and 84th minutes.

The Eagles wrap up a strong 2022 season with a record of 6-3-1.
