Terry Akpua signs professional contract with CD Mafra in Portugal

Prince Georges Community College Alumni Terry Akpua was signed to a professional contract by CD Mafra, a second division team in Portugal.

Terry was a two time All American at Prince George's Community College and represented the owls soccer team from 2008-2010. During this time, he showcased his well-rounded game while scoring 19 goals and adding 18 assists. He was a dominant figure on the field and was named to the Region and All Tournament teams. He was team captain both years and was instrumental in winning the MD JUCO Championship, Region XX Title in 2009 and the Conference Tournament Championship as a sophomore.

Terry was an exceptional student athlete not only for his presence on the soccer field but also because of his dedication to academics. He excelled in the classroom and earned the NJCAA Academic Student Award which is given to student athletes that have earned 45 credits and above while maintaining a G.P.A of 3.6 or higher.

He later received a scholarship to attend the University of Pittsburg, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. Terry played in 32 career games as a panther starting in 19 of those games. He finished is panthers career registering 2 goals and had 10 points overall.
