Prince George's Men's Soccer Tryouts Begin August 1; Interested In Playing A Sport For The Owls?

LARGO, Md. - The 2018 Prince George's Community College men's soccer season is just around the corner. Any Prince George's students interested in a tryout for the men's soccer program should contact new men's soccer head coach Tony Galeano at galeanaj@pgcc.edu for more information.

The men's soccer team has won the National Junior College Athletic Conference (NJCAA) Region XX title six times (1982, 1983, 1996, 1999, 2009, 2016) in program history and has recorded a third and fourth place finish at the NJCAA Men's Soccer National Tournament. The Owls are looking to grab its first region title in three years and a return trip to the national tournanment. Galeano enters his first season at the helm in Largo, but is no stranger to success in the region after claiming the crown four times as a head coach.

Along with men's soccer, Prince George's has men's and women's basketball, cheerleading, track and field and baseball. Any Prince George's student interested in these sports can fill out this questionnaire or look out for an athletics table during Welcome Back week.

During the 2017-18 athletic season, men's basketball competed for a district championship, baseball won its second-straight region title and was won game from the World Series while Milan Wall was the national champion in the 400-meter dash at the NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. In addition, the Owls had an NJCAA All-Academic first team selection in Gina Seifert, who was also the NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Player of the Week twice.
